I grew up duck hunting in South Carolina where wood ducks were our bread and butter. I loved them and still do. Early mornings in the rice fields are some of my fondest memories. This love of waterfowl in South Carolina led me to pore over any field guide I could find. (I still do and luckily have a collection of over 200 field guides!) Those distant species of other flyways on the pages of these books always made me dream about hunts in distant states still to come.
